It manifests itself in various ways: gestures, words, actions, and behavior&#8230; ranging from the most <strong>benign<\/strong> (comments&#8230;) <strong>to the most serious<\/strong> (violence, rape, homicide&#8230;). These actions aim to discredit, marginalize, belittle, or mistreat women and have repercussions on them, such as self-confidence, psychological and physical well-being, and behavioral changes.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-e1de092 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"e1de092\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">... which may involve sexual harassment<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-32a461b elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"32a461b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Sexual harassment does not exclude sexist behavior; quite the contrary.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to its legal definition, sexual harassment is characterized by <strong>repeatedly subjecting a person to sexist or sexual comments or behavior that undermines their dignity due to its degrading or humiliating nature, creating an intimidating, hostile, or offensive environment for them.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, we can consider sexual harassment as grounds for prosecution:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>When a person is exposed to comments or behavior of a sexist or sexual nature<strong> from several people who have conspired together, without any of them acting repeatedly<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>When a person is subjected to sexist or sexual remarks or behavior <strong>from several individuals who have not acted in concert but know that this person has already been the victim of such behavior<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-6d9f4f2 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"6d9f4f2\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Alarming figures...<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ed3163e elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"ed3163e\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>According to the report by the High Council for Equality (HCE) for the year 2025-2026:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>94% of women aged 15 to 24<\/strong> find it harder to be a woman today, compared to 67% of men in the same age group;<\/li>\n<li><strong>4 in 10 women<\/strong> say they have experienced injustice or humiliation because of their gender;<\/li>\n<li><strong>76% of employees<\/strong> believe that gender parity is not respected in the workplace.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-556b60f elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"556b60f\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">... which reflect reality more than ever<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5e2195a elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"5e2195a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Sexism is not only manifested through isolated remarks: it shapes professional disparities<\/strong>. The net pay gap between women and men stands at 14.2% in full-time equivalent terms, rising to 23.5% in the private sector. In addition, 80% of part-time jobs are held by women, who have less access to the most lucrative positions (Report of the High Council for Equality, 2025).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sexism is therefore firmly entrenched in our system<\/strong>: it impacts recruitment processes, career advancement, pay, and even the distribution of daily responsibilities.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-dd003d3 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"dd003d3\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">What are the most common forms of sexist behavior and sexual harassment in the workplace?<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-e1b0bc9 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"e1b0bc9\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Inappropriate remarks...<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7f0377c elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"7f0377c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>\u201cBenign\u201d sexist remarks are often underestimated, even though they create a hostile atmosphere<\/strong>. Jokes, nicknames, comments about appearance&#8230; obscene or degrading comments continue to thrive in the workplace. According to the IPSOS barometer (<em>Stop au Sexisme Ordinaire en Entreprise, 2025<\/em>):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>3 out of 4 women<\/strong> report having been subjected to sexist jokes, a problem that has not decreased since 2023.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Nearly 40% of women<\/strong> said they had been addressed by a man using a sexist term (\u201cmy dear,\u201d \u201cMiss,\u201d etc.), although one in two men consider these expressions to be well-intentioned or even commendable.<\/li>\n<li><strong>2 out of 3 women<\/strong> reported having been confronted with sexist behavior during meetings, situations that 64% of their male colleagues do not see.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-38878b4 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"38878b4\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">... to false seduction<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7603e1e elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"7603e1e\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Such deviant behavior, particularly<strong> when motivated by hierarchical power that allows constraints to be imposed<\/strong>, can lead to cases of sexual harassment: this abuse of power, manifested by threats concerning employment conditions, acts of blackmail linked to promotion or dismissal in order to obtain sexual favors, etc., is clearly considered harassment.<\/p>\n<p>However, it is difficult to distinguish between overt sexual harassment and a simple attempt at seduction that has been misinterpreted, a paranoid interpretation, or malicious manipulation.<\/p>\n<p>It is the responsibility of company managers to put measures in place to combat sexual harassment and to act promptly to put an end to it if it occurs.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-14f3630 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"14f3630\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">And what about... \"benign\" sexism?<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ce769d4 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"ce769d4\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Often disguised as protection or praise, benevolent sexism is particularly insidious because it helps reinforce gender stereotypes<\/strong>.
