Let's build together Adaptiv'Math
Adaptiv’Math is a teaching assistant for teaching and learning mathematics in cycle 2. It can be used to personalise the learning path of pupils, target their difficulties and enrich the teacher’s pedagogical vision! Are you a teacher interested in taking part in this project? Then join us! We need you and your pupils to help us build the teaching assistant that meets your need.

An innovation partnership
This project, carried out in partnership with the French Ministry od Education, Youth and Sport and experts in pedagogy, AI an UX interfaces for education, is part of the P2iA program (Partnership for Innovation in Artificial Intlligence), which aims to co-construct artificial intelligence that is genuinely at the service of teachers and their pupils.
How does it work?
The assistant consists of 2 parts :
- 5 modules with individualised exercise paths for students
- 1 dashboard for the teacher
The learning modules are based on a unique and innovative combination of 3 areas of research for teaching cycle 2 mathematics.
Recent research in cognitive science to stimulate learning of key mathematical concepts :
- Sense of number
- Numerical facts, reflective calculation
- Arithmetic problem solving
- Problem solving and measurement
- Geometry
A AI engine under the teacher’s control that works to :
- Tailor the student’s learning path by distributing the most relevant exercises as they work
- Summarise and present collective and inidvidual results to the teacher
A graphical UX learning interface designed to :
- Keep students focused on the subject
- Stimulate student motivation
- Avoid cognitive overload
Why and how to participate?
Here are 3 good reasons why :
- It is collective! Join the first experiment on AI for education in France for cycle 2 with teachers from 10 academies
- It is interesting! Compare your teaching expertise with 3 areas of research (cognitive science for maths, artificial intelligence and the UX learning interface)
- This is for you! Contribute to improving the prototype’s functionalities and interface for students and teachers, by sharing your experience
Dates : from 5 October to 20 November 2020, with a support and information phase beforehand.
